Course Synopsis

This course reviews political conceptual frameworks such as authority and political influence, government, and political culture, based on a Malaysian perspective. This course includes a discussion on Malaysia’s political history, the

role of political structure and function in its political system. This is an interesting topic because Malaysia’s political landscape is regarded as unique and different

from many other democratic countries.

The Expert

Dr Muhammad Asri Mohd Ali

Dr Muhammad Asri Mohd Ali is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Administration. He received his PhD in Politics from University of Malaya. He specializes in Malaysian Politics, Voting Behavior, Political Culture and State-society Relations. He is regularly invited by the mainstream media in Malaysia to share his opinion on the country’s political landscape. He is also actively involved in moderating social discourses on current issues in Malaysia, organized by different organizations and associations.
