Course Synopsis

This lecture will introduce students to the concept of Islamic worldview – on God, Man, Aims in Life, and Nature. With that understanding, students will learn about the “what and why” of Islamic economics – what are the characteristics and objectives of Islamic economics and why is there a need for Islamic economics when we have the mainstream economics in place.

The Expert

Dr. Roza Hazli Zakaria

Dr Roza Hazli Zakaria is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Administration. She received her PhD in Economics from National University of Malaysia. She specializes in Islamic Economics and Banking, Household Economics and Monetary Economics. She has undertaken various research projects related to her areas of expertise and published academic articles in local and international journals.
