Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic affects the internal and external experiences of final-year students. Mindfulness is believed to have a role in lowering negative emotions and promoting positive emotions through individualized emotion management skills. This study aims to find out the relationship between mindfulness and emotion regulation. This research employs quantitative approaches with 336 Satya Wacana Christian University final students as participants. The sampling technique in this research used non-probability sampling, namely incidental sampling. Furthermore, this research used the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS) and the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) as assessment instruments. The results show no significant relationship between mindfulness and emotion regulation in final students with r_xy = - 0,055 and p > 0.05. This result means that mindfulness has no relation to the emotion regulation of final students at Satya Wacana Christian University (SWCU). Other results were obtained by SWCU final students, where emotion regulation is in the high category and mindfulness is in the moderate category.
