Profile

Dr. Shamsatun Nahar binti Ahmad joined UiTM on 28th January 2008 as a Mathematics Lecturer in the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, UiTM Johor, Segamat campus.

She had five years experienced as Computer Programmer at Computer Center Malaysia Airlines Sdn Bhd, Kelana Jaya, Selangor and five years experienced in education field at SMK Bandar Baru UDA Johor Bahru, Johor as a Mathematics teacher. She taught Additional Mathematics form four and form five students.

After she completed her Doctorate in Philosophy of Science Mathematics from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Skudai, Johor Bahru, Johor, she was appointed as Course Coordinator of Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences (2016 - 2020).

As an academician, she is an active researcher and writing besides teaching. All her research are funding by grants as well as her academic writing. The grants that have been won are Dana Kecemerlangan 2010 (PI), ARAS 2016 (PI), LESTARI SDG-T 2019 (PI), FRGS-RACER 2019 (Co) and UiTM Johor grants (UJRG-2015, GBest-2019, GBest-2020). Some of her writing have been published in referred and indexed journal and also conference proceeding. For instance AIP conference proceeding (Scopus indexed), Environment Behavior Proceeding Journal (WOS indexed), Scientific Research Journal, J. of Math. and Fund. Sciences (Scopus Q3), and Mal. J. Fund. and Applied Sciences (Scopus Q4). Other than academic writing, she expended her interests in general writing where one article in Berita Harian and two articles in Utusan Malaysia. The latest publication in 2020 was a reference book titled, Fundamental of Calculus.

On top of that, she also involved in community service, for instance the "Telekung dan Masjid" project at seven mosques in Segamat (2014) where she was a leader. This project was a collaboration project with Majlis Agama Islam Segamat (MAIS). Consequently, she brought this project to a competition named AKPIM 2014 and won Silver medal. In addition, she also lead the program named School Attack at SMKA Segamat. on 29 Sept 2018.

In term of consultation, she used her expertise in teaching mathematics for form 3 students at Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ana-anak Yatim Islam Segamat (PKAYIS) with cost RM50 per class.

She won Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang 2017.
