DR. Rahmawati Mohd Yusoff joined UiTM in May 2020 as a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Law.


Dr. Rahmawati Mohd Yusoff is a Senior Lecturer at Deparment of Law, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Johor Branch, Segamat Campus, where she started teaching since May 4, 2020. She obtained her degree LL.B (Hons) in 2014, LL.Bs (Hons) in 2015, master degree in 2016 and doctoral degree in 2019 from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). During her study, she has received the Best Student award for her L.L.B_S from International Islamic University Malaysia in 2015, the Rector List award from International Islamic University Malaysia in 2015, Sarjana Terengganu Award from Yayasan Terengganu in 2015, Dean List Award from International Islamic University Malaysia in 2009, 2014, and 2015, Dean List Award from Centre for Foundation Studies of International Islamic University Malaysia in 2008, Best Student Award for SPM and Khatam Hafazan Quran Certificate Award from Sekolah Menengah Hafiz, Klang in 2007. She also was a research assistant for lot of researchers from IIUM, USM, and others institutions.

Currently, she is a Lecturer in Charge (LIC) for subject LAW448 Cyber Law for Commerce at UiTM Segamat. Her other publications include a book entitled Cyber Law For Commerce (For Non-Law Students) vol. 1, vol. 2 and Law 485: Corporate Law. She also writes journal articles in various areas namely administration estates, Islamic wealth management, property law, family law, Islamic law and so on.

COURSES TAUGHT

  • LAW448 CYBER LAW FOR COMMERCE: This course provides an overview of the major aspects of cyber law, which have implications for commercial and business transactions. Among the topics examined are the Internet and Business, Electronic Privacy and Data Protection, Computer Crimes, Domain Names and Emerging Issues.

  • LAW485 CORPORATE LAW: Business organization and trade industries play an important role in achieving and stimulating economic success in the technological era of Malaysia. Therefore, graduates are expected to be equipped with knowledge and skills in respect of theoretical, practical and legal dimension of business organization. Accordingly, this course intends to introduce essential company rules and regulations to help them manage business organization dynamically and efficiently.

  • LAW346 INTRODUCTION TO PARTNERSHIP & COMPANY LAW: This course deals with the law relating to partnerships and companies. It covers the basic elements of company and partnership law with special relevance to matters of particular concern to Accountants.

  • LAW240 INTRODUCTION TO COMMERCIAL LAW: This course is meant to expose to the students the general overview on the commercial legal environment in Malaysia. Firstly, it will discuss the Malaysian legal system covering the sources of laws, administration of justice, application of English law and the position of Shari’ah law. Secondly, this course will inculcate the basic understanding in the law of contract as the governing principles in all commercial transactions. This topic comprises the nature and legal consequences of contract, formation of contract, legal capacity, performance of contract, breach of contract and remedies. It will also cover basic understanding on the sales of goods and hire purchase law. The law on cheques are also included since such commercial activities are also commonly practiced in Malaysia. The coverage of these topics however will be very minimal since the course aims to provide the students with general guidelines to these commercial transactions.

  • LAW299 BUSINESS LAW: This course provides an overview of the major aspects of business law. Topics covered are legal aspects of business organization, law of contract, law of agency, hire purchase, sale of goods and negotiable instruments.
