Sahar Farshadkhah, DBA, is an assistant professor of Management Information Systems in the College of Business and Management at the University of Illinois at Springfield.
She holds a doctorate in Computer Information Systems, a master’s degree in information technology management, and a bachelor’s degree in industrial management. She has five years’ work experience as a Senior Business Analyst in well-known companies before finding her enthusiasm for doing research in IS field in order to serve both academia and industries.
Sahar’s main research interest focuses on cybersecurity. Her research centers on understanding behavioral aspects of information security and help organizations to mitigate information security violation and increase employee’s information security awareness and compliance. Her research has been published in IS journals and presented at prestigious conferences.
Her teaching interest includes management information systems, business process management, and cybersecurity. Sahar is a member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), Academy of Management (AOM), Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), IFIP WG8.11/WG11.13- Information Systems Security Research (IFIP), Special Interest Group on Information Security and Privacy (SIGSEC), and SIGMIS.
