Abstract:
The article examines the personality phenomenon of the performer-musician, defines its main components, and elucidates the principles of musician’s personal transformation in performance. The purpose of the article is to analyze the diversity, depth and richness of musician’s performing personality in connection with the diversity of his psychophysiological and mental structures. Such a multi-vector understanding of the performing personality requires a professional systematic analysis in order to organize the links of the multi-level structure of this phenomenon for modeling the artistic and creative process of working on a musical piece. Along with the individual-psychological complex, the artistic-technological complex of the musician-performer, which consists of virtuosic and imaginative (associative) techniques, acquires significant importance in the structure of professional and personal qualities.
Virtuoso technique is a component of the artistic-technological complex, intrinsic to musicianperformer, which is based on the perfect study of the rational and expedient technical methods of the musician-performer. Figurative or associative technique of the performer represents the relationship of performer’s highest level of technique with artistic goals in the process of reading the content of a musical work, which is connected with personal processes of self-knowledge, self-evaluation and selfregulation of the professional system in the process of artistic and performing activity. Therefore, possessing such thorough system structures, musician-performer’s personality enters into the context of the musical composition, working on it. In this process, the piece reflects the individual-psychological and artistic-technical complex of the composer himself. In the creative process of working on musical compositions of various styles, it is not enough just to project one’s individual characteristics into the context of the work.
The compositions must be perceived with self-awareness, experienced through one’s individuality, filled with new emotional and figurative associations, create one’s own performing concept of interpretation taking into account the style, peculiarities of the musical language of the work, which will motivate the discovery of new expressive articulatory forms of their reproduction. The performer must find the appropriate level of imagery, associativeness in his virtuoso-technical methods to convey the plot of the musical work. Such integrability of virtuosity with the imagery of a musician lies at the basis of the process of musical and performing personality transformation, is both the core of flexible professionalism and creates the uniqueness of the performing personality of the artist.
