Abstract:
The article examines the theoretical aspects of the formation of linguistic and sociocultural competence of students in the context of their professional and personal development. The formation of linguistic and sociocultural competence of students is conditioned by the need for the revival of humanism as a harmonious development of modern civilization, but also for its survival.
The formation of linguistic and sociocultural competence of students in the context of their professional and personal formation contributes to a significant increase in the humanistic potential of higher education institutions.
Linguistic and cultural competence of an individual has a certain structure, which includes two components: intracultural competence – knowledge of norms, rules and traditions of one’s own linguistic and cultural community, and intercultural competence. Linguistic culture studies semiotically important elements of society’s culture using cultural, ethnographic, linguistic, psychological and sociological methods.
Linguistic and sociocultural competence is a category of humanitarian knowledge. In the process of its formation, it is possible to effectively use the socio-cultural content of educational disciplines based on the integration of educational, educational and scientific activities of students.
Linguistic and socio-cultural competence of future specialists is a complex and multi-component phenomenon, the main components of which are linguistic, socio-cultural, cultural and linguistic, social, linguistic and cultural, sociolinguistic and country competence. Developed linguistic and sociocultural competence is an important factor in forming the communicative competence of an individual ready for intercultural communication.
Linguistic and sociocultural competence is an important mechanism of effective intercultural communication, covers lingual and extralingual factors of communicative interaction, focuses attention on the contrast of languages and cultures of different peoples, on the development of certain personal qualities that help to implement intercultural communication.
At the modern stage, in line with the anthropocentric approach to education, the problem of the interaction of language and culture comes to the fore, since it is from culture that the spiritual communication of people, the understanding and cooperation of peoples begins, and the communication of cultures is actualized in the communication of personalities, the main means of which is language.
