THE VALUE-VALUE NATURE OF PROFESSIONAL SELF-DETERMINATION IN THE CONCEPT OF RESEARCH OF SCIENTISTS OF THE END OF THE 20TH – BEGINNING OF THE 21ST CENTURY

Abstract:
The article focuses attention on the study of the meaningful side of the professional self-determination of the individual, its value-semantic nature, in retrospect of the researches of scientists of the late 20th – early 21st centuries.
The author notes that self-determination is connected with values, with the need to form a value system, in which the leading place belongs to the problem of the meaning of life. The definition of oneself as an individual has a valuemeaningful context, where values determine orientation to the future. The system of individual values is the result of an individual’s internalization of the values of society, on the basis of which value orientations are formed in it, as certain worldview regulations of behavior and activity, which are an important element of a person’s spiritual certainty in general, personal and professional self-determination in particular, as a system of attitudes of an individual on the way to professional becoming.
The author is convinced that value orientations are elements of the personality structure that characterize the meaningful side of its orientation. In the form of value orientations, the essential, the most important for a person, the basis of his professional growth is fixed.
Summarizing the position of scientists regarding the value-meaning nature of professional self-definition, the author makes the following generalizations: 1) the essence of this definition is related to the value-meaning nature of the interaction between a person and the world, an individual and a profession; 2) as a systemic formation, it is naturally formed in the process of professionalization of an individual, the main condition for reaching the level of selfdetermination is the development of reflective consciousness and self-awareness of the future specialist; 3) provides objectification of the subjective qualities of a professional’s personality; 4) includes two aspects: professional and personal; 5) can have both a situational character and a personal characteristic of a professional; 6) is possible due to the disclosure of its prerequisites, structural and dynamic characteristics.
