Abstract:
In the article, the author analyzes the complex of interactions of dance cultures in the process of intercultural communication and singles out the functions of dance that are significant for building an effective intercultural dialogue. The author notes that intercultural communication with the help of dance can be carried out at the micro – and macro-level, while the specific tool of such communication is the cultural code.
One of the prominent features of the ХХІ century is the growth of global connections between continents, countries and peoples in all spheres of social life. Of particular importance in this process is the interaction between representa- tives of different cultures – intercultural communication.
Dance has the ability to influence the psycho-emotional and physical, bodily nature of a person, therefore, in such fields of scientific knowledge as psychology, psychotherapy, art history, aesthetics, certain aspects of this phenome- non are studied. The features of dance movements enshrined in cultural traditions are largely determined by the an- thropological characteristics of the people – genetically determined physiological, neurophysiological, somatic features (metabolic features, mobility of the processes of excitation and inhibition of the central nervous system, body features, etc.), innate psychological characteristics, in particular temperament representatives of different cultures. Currently, the problems of intercultural interaction in the conditions of globalization of the modern world are acutely relevant.
Dance is a way of engaging in physical activity, which allows a person to improve physical health, because during dancing, active movement occurs, all muscle groups work, and the heart and lungs are strengthened. Dance not only ex- pands the range of motion, but also improves a person’s mental stability, helps to improve well-being, increase self-con- fidence and improve mood.
Dance promotes the development of creative potential and interpersonal skills, helps a person maintain a connection with himself and with other people, and also develops the ability to express his feelings and emotions through movements. Dance as an art form contributes to the formation and maintenance of social ties and communication between people, unites different cultures and traditions, helping people from different social groups find a common language and communicate regardless of the language barrier.
Dance aff ects social connections and communication, providing opportunities for communication, developing communication skills, forming friendships and expressing emotions.
