Abstract:
The study focuses on the problem of using educational media resources (visual, audio, audiovisual, etc.) and digital applications (various models of artificial intelligence for generating texts and images, educational portals, resources for learning Ukrainian language and mathematics, etc.) in the implementation of STEM technologies in the process of professional training of future teachers.
It is established that these areas include: training (involves students attending online courses, webinars, lectures as elements of non-formal education; observing real and video lessons while studying professional techniques, visiting virtual laboratories as examples of STEM education; familiarisation and use of electronic textbooks, manuals; use of 3D models, etc.); practical training (work in virtual laboratories, research stations, museums, including virtual ones, etc.); methodological support (provision of advisory assistance by a teacher or mentor teacher during pedagogical practice on the specifics of organising classes, STEM/STREAM projects, opportunities for professional development through online courses, etc.)
On the example of certain normative and elective disciplines, the methodological features of preparing future primary school teachers for the organisation of a long-term group STREAM project “Journey through Ukraine” are highlighted. The research attention is paid to the selection and peculiarities of using media and digital resources for each direction of the STREAM project for the “Eminent Figures” group: Science (using the wall map “Prominent Figures” and language models Geminy, Ghat GPT, etc.), Technology (creating a presentation using the Gamma.app AI model based on the collected information about several prominent figures of Ukraine), Reading+Writing (using the Mentimeter resource to create a word cloud on the research topic, generating a comic book using AI Comic Factory from the keywords of the cloud, writing messages based on the plot of the generated comic book, etc.), Engineering (generating a panoramic image of an object/invention, etc. related to this figure using the Skybox neural network, working with LEGO), Art (using Dream.ai to generate your own unusual object related to a famous figure; making a laptop book, etc.), Mathematics (solving mathematical problems and examples using the apps “I’m not waiting”, “Matific”, etc.)
Keywords: educational media resources, digital applications, STEM technologies, professional training of future teachers.
