COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE OF THE FUTURE TEACHER
IN MODERN CONDITIONS

Abstract:
The article reveals the problem of developing language and communicative competence of the future teacher in modern conditions. It has been established that linguistic and communicative competence is a necessary component of the professional competence of any person and is being studied by specialists in various fields. It is proven that the study of language and communicative competence of the future teacher as a professionally significant, integral quality has not yet been presented in modern research.
The reasons are revealed, which are connected with the fact that in pedagogical activity, especially at the initial stage, there are a number of difficulties associated with the contradiction between the new requirements of personaloriented education, which correspond to modern humanistic trends, and real professional ones (primarily linguistic – communicative) skills. It has been established that in institutions of higher education, the special task of developing the linguistic and communicative competence of the future teacher is either set or partially solved in separate aspects. It was revealed that the concept of «linguistic and communicative competence» cannot be reduced to either pedagogical abilities or personal qualities, as the interpretation is one-sided. Two interrelated and interdependent levels of linguistic and communicative competence are distinguished: the first level determines the manifestation of linguistic and communicative competence in communication, communicative behavior of a person, the second includes communicative values, orientation and specific motivation of the teacher in general, his need for communication.
The essence of linguistic and communicative competence is revealed as an essential component of his professional culture, which includes a set of knowledge, abilities and skills in the field of verbal and non-verbal means for adequate perception and reflection of reality in various communication situations, it involves the ability to effectively and expediently build the language behavior of the teacher in various situations of professional communication. Therefore, linguistic and communicative competence at work is considered as a holistic, integrative phenomenon, as a property, of high professional significance.
