Abstract:
The authors emphasize in the article that the main goal of forming vocal and performing skills in secondary school students is the process of singing as a deep layer of human emotions, capable of revealing the best physical and spiritual qualities. At the initial stage of learning vocal singing, students have some difficulties in sound production, which threatens not only the artistic performance of a vocal work. Some shortcomings in the vocal training of general secondary school students have a negative impact on the entire vocal apparatus.
The «white sound», hypertrophy of the chest sound, the manner of singing in a half-voice in the middle register (when using a microphone), inept use of vibrato, forced sound are the most common shortcomings. The article analyzes these shortcomings in vocal training and outlines ways to overcome them in the learning process. This information is useful for vocal teachers, music teachers of general secondary schools, and leaders of vocal clubs and studios.
Keywords: vocal performance skills, vocal apparatus, sound formation deficiencies, forced sound, vibrato, resonance, breath support.
