Abstract:
In the article, in the context of the problem of professional self-determination of the individual, based on the analysis of the education system and the study of the content of the main state documents regarding its organization and implementation, the author focuses on revealing the trends in the development of the content of education in Ukraine in the 30 s-90 s of the 20th century.
The researcher singles out and characterizes the development of the content of education in Ukraine in different historical periods of development. During the studied period, the author notes the following approaches to the development of the content of education: cognitive (1930–1950 s), activity (1960–1970 s), cultural (1980 s), personalityoriented and the embodiment of the idea of humanization (90 – those years – the beginning of the 21st century.
The consideration of the issue of trends in the development of the content of education in Ukraine in the 30 s-90 s of the 20th century, carried out on the basis of the analysis of historical and pedagogical literature, allows us to state that the «content of education» is not a stable concept. As an important phenomenon, the content of education is determined by socio-historical conditions of development and changed according to the influence of external and internal factors of formation of the content of education. The content of education is considered as a pedagogically adapted system of knowledge, abilities and skills, experience of creative activity and emotional and valuable attitude to the world, the assimilation of which ensures personality development.
The beginning of the 21st century is the period of introduction of the competence approach to the content of education, which is based on the training of not only knowledgeable, but also thinking specialists capable of further self-development and self-improvement.
