Abstract:
The article is an attempt to substantiate the problem of professional self-improvement of future masters of physical education, which has recently become particularly relevant. It is proved that professional self-improvement is one of the most important factors in the training of future masters of physical education.
The essence of the concept of professional self-improvement of the future master of physical education is revealed: it is a purposeful process of increasing the level of professionally significant qualities of the future master of physical education in professional training, personal program of physical development, fitness and health. Self-improvement is most often motivated by the desire to surpass one’s current self, achieve better results, improve one’s skills, and acquire personality qualities that are important to oneself. It is a conscious constant work on oneself with the aim of positive change, approaching a certain ideal of the self, realizing the tendency to personal growth.
In the process of pedagogical practice, we distinguish the stages of self-improvement, including reflection, which encourages professional development, self-knowledge and self-determination: self-analysis of one’s own personality, activities and communication; identification of one’s strengths and weaknesses during self-knowledge; formation of an ideal image of «I» by using self-prediction mechanisms; designing a self-development program that determines the order and sequence of the teacher’s actions for self-improvement, time, conditions, predicted results, methods and techniques of self.
For a future master of physical education, self-improvement becomes a necessity of conscious work on the development of oneself as a professional, which involves the adaptation of one’s own individually unique characteristics to the requirements of pedagogical activity, continuous improvement of professional competence and development of social and moral qualities, based on the processes of self-education and self-education.
On the other hand, the process of professional self-improvement of a future physical education specialist cannot be considered without physical self-improvement, which is its basis.
