PEDAGOGICAL CONDITIONS FOR THE FORMATION OF LEADERSHIP QUALITIES IN FUTURE HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS

Abstract:
The article develops and substantiates the pedagogical conditions for the formation of leadership qualities in future teachers of higher education institutions: students’ motivation for the formation of these qualities, which is determined by ensuring their interest in showing their potential and achieving success in future professional activities; systematic reflection of students, aimed at self-observation, self-knowledge and self-analysis of leadership qualities and awareness of specific methods and opportunities for their formation and improvement; application of training technology, which involves purposeful, step-by-step practical work of students on the formation of leadership qualities.
Implementation of the first pedagogical condition was carried out with the help of such methods: problem presentation, conversations, discussions, brainstorming, case method, role-playing and business games. The motivation of future teachers of higher education to develop leadership qualities was carried out at the beginning of their master’s studies (as a basis for goal orientation), as well as at the beginning of studying disciplines and topics (as an interest and a basis for the formation of relevant qualities).
The implementation of the second pedagogical condition involved step-by-step work from the students’ initial understanding of themselves as individuals to determining the results of their work on themselves. The methods of implementing this condition were, accordingly, writing essays, analytical and reflective exercises, while students were given recommendations and requirements were set regarding the terms and frequency of their implementation to ensure the necessary systematic work of future teachers of the higher education on the formation of leadership qualities.
The implementation of the third pedagogical condition involved the development of the training «Formation of leadership qualities in future teachers of higher education». During the training, the methods of conversation, discussion, brainstorming, role-playing, business game, project, reflective exercises were used. The tasks of the training included: mastering the knowledge of the essence of leadership qualities by students; promoting the development of all components of the structure of leadership qualities of future teachers of higher education; mastering the skills and abilities of conscious development planning and self-improvement of leadership qualities in the long term. The structure of the training included three stages: an introduction, the main part, and the final part.
