Abstract:
The article highlights the leading directions of independent work of students in the conditions of distance learning. The definition of different directions of distance learning is a necessary condition for their application in the educational space. The improvement of these areas will contribute to solving many tasks, providing opportunities for obtaining continuous education of any level and quality, and creating conditions for the self-development of every person, regardless of age, gender, state of health and financial situation, individual psychological characteristics.
Distance education is currently one of the main areas of renewal of all levels of the educational system of Ukraine. Currently, a scientific and theoretical understanding of distance learning forms is taking place, new terminology is being introduced into scientific circulation, appropriate methodological support is being created, and new distance educational technologies are being tested experimentally.
Distance learning provides enormous opportunities and conveniences for training specialists through: access of an unlimited number of students to professional qualification improvement; conducting training without leaving the main place of work and the possibility of directly using the acquired knowledge in daily professional activities; opportunities to take into account the informational needs and wishes of teachers; implementation of approaches to individualization and differentiation of education; reduction of significant costs for training due to reduction of costs related to command, replacement of teachers, material and technical base and inconveniences related to temporary residence in another place, etc.
