Abstract:
The article deals with the peculiarities of the content of educational programmes of French educational institutions for training specialists in landscape gardening. The structure and list of disciplines of the programmes of the Higher Agricultural School of Angers and the National Higher Landscape School of Versailles are analysed. The bachelor’s degree programme in landscape design of the Higher Agricultural School of Angers includes disciplines that are divided into two blocks: basic (general) and professional. The professional block consists of several modules: economic, specialised, elective and local. In terms of theoretical training, a graduate in landscape gardening acts as an expert or mediator in environmental issues, design and landscaping after completing their studies at the National Higher Landscape School of Versailles. In practical terms, a certified specialist in landscape gardening must have a full range of knowledge and skills in the improvement of public spaces, parks and gardens, residential complexes and even road networks. The peculiarities of educational programmes for the training of landscape gardening specialists in French higher education institutions are determined: practical orientation of academic courses, a wide range of elective modules, the local initiative module, interdisciplinarity, project preparation and implementation. The experience of professional training in the field of landscape gardening is worthy of careful attention from Ukrainian higher education institutions of this profile.
