Abstract:
The article considers the concepts of «values», «moral values», «motive», «freedom», «dignity», «conscience».
The essence of values in the formation of the moral consciousness of a personality is analyzed. It is substantiated that the personality’s values are an integral part of his moral consciousness. It has been proven that the moral values of the personality require a personal motive and at the same time are a source of human motivation; reflect reality in the mind of the personality.
The dominant values and outlook of the New Ukrainian School, based on the postulates of partnership pedagogy, positive psychology and the philosophy of child-centrism, is based on universal values (mercy, help, care, love, kindness, respect for oneself and other people, dignity, etc.), socially significant motivation life activity, joint responsibility and support of good ideas and ability for spiritual, moral and socio-cultural self-creation and pro-social service to the state and society.
The concept of «value» is very closely related to the concepts of «need», «interest». They exist in all spheres of social life. Thanks to them, we answer important questions: «What does a person need?», «What does he desire?», «What is important to him?» Human needs transformed into interests become values. Moral consciousness is one of the components of human consciousness in general, which reflects the degree of assimilation of social morality by a person, assimilation, interpretation, and sometimes the development of moral principles by a person.
