Abstract:
The article updates the importance of the research competence of a modern teacher, which is related to the training of a new teacher, who is able to conduct scientific and pedagogical research, to carry out search activities, creatively updating the content and means of pedagogical activity, building an individual research trajectory, creating the necessary conditions for the development of one’s own professional competence. The purpose of the article: to reveal the essential aspects of the phenomenon «research competence of the teacher» from the perspective of building an individual research trajectory in professional activity in accordance with the requirements of the New Ukrainian School. Some clarifications have been made regarding the interpretation of the key concept «competence», which has different emphasis in the regulatory plane and scientific discourse.
The concept of «research competence of a teacher» is interpreted as an integrative personal and professional characteristic that accumulates motivation for scientific research, the level of mastery of the methodology of conducting pedagogical research in the practical plane, the formation of personally significant qualities as the basis for the implementation of his individual research trajectory and the systematic involvement of education seekers in educational and research work. It is summarized that the formation of the research competence of a modern teacher is a necessary condition for his formation in the New Ukrainian School, which actualizes the role of the research paradigm, brings it to a new level of significance.
