Abstract:
The article substantiates the effectiveness of using musical art therapy as a method of psychocorrection and personality development in a higher education institution. The purpose, tasks, functions and forms of development and understanding of oneself and one’s inner world as a person are determined.
The content of music therapy classes consists in the unity of such positions as enriching the experience of emotional and personal attitude to reality and increasing the baggage of musical impressions. At the same time, it is very important to cultivate in students of higher education a culture of listening and a desire to engage in artistic and musical-practical activities in order to achieve their own independence, independence in their preferences, and most importantly, the ability to love and perceive themselves and the world as it is through music.
Classical music for the development of the brain and memory contributes to the formation of a strong connection between the left and right hemispheres of the brain, the development of thinking, increasing self-esteem, increases work capacity and concentration of attention. If it is necessary to adjust to intellectual work, it is recommended to listen to calm melodies, pleasant, with often repeated sounds and a gradual increase. Therefore, musical material for music therapy classes should be selected very carefully. You can listen to different music. The main thing is that it does not cause irritation.

Music art therapy today is the subject of scientific interests of both domestic and foreign researchers. It is actively used in the educational environment, it is an effective means of self-discovery, harmonization of development, self-expression and personality correction, it accelerates the healing process, since a person’s inner experiences are more easily expressed with the help of music than verbally.
In the educational process of the institution of higher education, where the professional development of the individual is actively taking place, it should take its proper place. After all, the introduction of creative, non-standard means of influence on the emotional and sensory sphere of a person creates conditions for the development of a harmonious personality through the influence on intellectual abilities; the physiological state of its development.
