Abstract:
The article proves that collective singing and music-making in a group, accompanied by movements, dances and games, develops empathy and strengthens the sense of community through a shared musical experience. Rhythmic games and various movements accompanying singing quickly and effectively improve the aesthetics and coherence of movements.
Besides teaching facilities offered by 21st-century digital technologies, traditional methods of knowledge transfer should not be forgotten about. The love of music must be instilled in children at a young age. In addition to singing in nursery and primary school, a lot of musical play, creative work and active listening is needed.
Singing is a kind of art which is given for everybody without any special prior training, and which gives the chance for one to express themselves and develop their aesthetic and artistic competences. Even a few decades ago, singing folk songs was an integral part of everyday life in traditional rural culture. Singing used to satisfy a basic human demand as the best means of expressing moods, feelings, joy and sadness, while folk children’s games taught the little ones almost imperceptibly, in a playful manner, perfectly adjusted to their physical and psychic conditions.
We can also think in terms of musical form by predetermining the reading process. For example, according to rondo form, where A is the original reading direction, B means only circular shapes with pauses by keeping the tempo, A is the original reading direction, C is sounding only rectangles with pauses by keeping the tempo, A is the original reading direction. The resulting musical work may be recorded on audio or on video. Six pupils at a time can be involved in the interpretation process. However, working in groups or in a cooperative form, the works presented one after the other can be played simultaneously, as a synthesis, with projection and by a teacher’s direction, to create a class-level production.
