Abstract:
The stages of formation and development of the choral culture of Transcarpathia were analyzed, and the cause-and-effect relationships of unpredictable changes in the structure, content, and elements of the choral culture of Transcarpathia were revealed. The concept of «choral culture» is considered as an element of the structure of the musical culture of Ukraine.
The specifics of the development of choral genres, choral creativity, choral style and choral writing and traditions of choral performance of the region are highlighted according to sudden changes in the process of development of the phenomenon under study. t has been found that the first signs of the choral culture of Transcarpathia synthesized the stability of monody, which was combined with the nonlinear development of singing traditions of Orthodox and Catholic worship (recitative reading, Catholic hymns, Orthodox chants), folk melos and canons of religious choral performance, choral creativity and education.
The formation and development of the choral culture of Transcarpathia should be considered as a nonlinear movement of a complex, unbalanced cultural and educational system that combines the variability of historically conditioned choral genres and styles, the specificity of choral writing, the choral creativity of composers of the Silver Land, and the characteristic practice of choral performance. The specificity of the choral culture of Transcarpathia is characterized by the category of multiculturalism, respect for the cultural achievements of Czech, Hungarian, Polish, and Slovak composers. However, we emphasize the deep Ukrainian sources of the region’s choral culture, which are the basis for its further development.
Keywords: choral culture, choral performance, choral groups, educational institutions, choral compositional and performing work.
