Abstract:
The article focuses on the axiological coordinates of working with a symphony orchestra. The author substantiates individual areas of work on the training of a conductor and focuses on the methodology of working with a symphony orchestra score.
When working on an orchestral score, a conductor should activate such components of the human psyche as perception, imagination, and thinking. In addition to the conscious initial visual perception of the musical text of the score, it is necessary to feel with the «inner» ear all the beauty and range of feelings that the composer tried to convey. Actually, the visual and inner auditory reading of the orchestral score is the key to understanding the depth of the images of the work of art.
It has been proven that future orchestral leaders must possess basic knowledge, practical skills, organizational and creative work skills with an orchestral group. In addition, demonstrate musicaltheoretical, cultural-historical knowledge in the field of musical art, present reasoned knowledge of the features of musical styles of different eras.
Future orchestral leaders must have a sensitive musical ear and a keen sense of rhythm, understand the musical drama of the work, the conflict of its development. Along with this, the conductor must possess a complex of specific knowledge of a theoretical, historical, aesthetic nature in order to more deeply understand music, its content, idea, be able to create a personal concept of performance, explain his plan to the performers.
It is substantiated that in the process of working on an orchestral score, the musical material is analyzed, the appropriateness of using the appropriate scheme and conductor’s gestures is determined, taking into account the tempo and nature of the musical work, strokes, dynamics, agogics, etc. In addition, to improve the conductor’s technique, the student’s work on appropriate exercises is provided.
Keywords: conductor training, symphony orchestra, work on the score of an orchestral work.
