Abstract:
The article explores the role of color as a means of intercultural communication in artistic education. Given the increasing importance of cultural interaction in a globalized world, special attention is paid to color symbolism, its cognitive impact, and its ability to serve as a universal visual language that fosters intercultural understanding.
The pedagogical aspects of using color in the training of future designers are analyzed, particularly its role in developing cultural sensitivity, tolerance, and intercultural competence.
Studying the color symbolism of different cultures enables future professionals in the artistic field to understand how color influences the perception of art and design objects, as well as to promote the harmonization of communication in a multicultural environment.
The article examines scientific approaches to studying color in intercultural communication (cultural studies, art history, psychology, and pedagogy) and their application in the educational process. Methods of analysis and systematization of scientific information are outlined, allowing for the determination of the role of color in the structure of intercultural interaction and the pedagogical approaches to its use.
Special attention is given to the adaptation of educational programs, the consideration of color codes from different cultures in the development of teaching materials, and the use of color in shaping students’ aesthetic worldview. It is established that integrating color symbolism into the educational process contributes to a deeper understanding of cultural traditions, stimulates creativity, and enhances artistic perception.
The study demonstrates that color in artistic education is not only a means of artistic expression but also an effective tool for fostering a globally oriented individual capable of intercultural dialogue and creative interaction. Emphasis is placed on the importance of developing the intercultural competence of future designers through the study of color codes, associations, and the semantic meanings of colors in various ethnic traditions. This not only broadens students’ professional perspectives but also promotes the creation of harmonious design solutions that take into account the cultural characteristics of the audience.
