Abstract:
The author considers readiness as an integrated system formation of a personality that characterizes its selective activity during preparation and inclusion in activities. The readiness of specialists to use methods of social work includes such components as: awareness of personality and social importance of use of certain methods of work; positive motivation of knowledge and abilities improvements in the social methods branch, the criteria of their effectiveness, comparative effectiveness of individual social work methods and their combination; mastery of individual selection algorithms and their combination; self-assessment of the effectiveness of the selected methods.
In order to achieve the ability of future social workers to optimally choose methods of interaction with clients it is proposed to use specific situations analysis method.
Motivation, theoretical, activity and diagnostic stages of future specialists’ readiness to use methods of social work are considered. Aims and types of work based on specific situations are defined at each stage. They require to define professional tasks and to choose social work methods to solve clients’ problems.
The proposed approach contributes future social workers’ development of the ability to see problematic tasks, to formulate professional tasks, to propose different ways of their solution and to choose the optimal way to achieve the goal under certain conditions that increases the effectiveness of the specialist’s professional activity.
