Abstract:
The article has been devoted to the theoretical substantiation of the importance of developing the emotional intellect of applicants for pedagogical specialties as the basis of their readiness for professional activity in the context of modern challenges. Emotional intellect has been considered as an integrative quality of a personality that combines cognitive, emotional and social components, providing the ability to recognize, understand and manage one’s own and others’ emotions.
The article emphasizes that the modern educational environment requires teachers not only professional competence but also a high level of emotional competence, which allows them to effectively interact with participants in the educational process and adapt to changing conditions of professional activity. It has been established that the development of emotional intelligence contributes to the formation of such important personal qualities as stress resistance, empathy, emotional self-regulation, and the ability to resolve conflicts constructively.
The analysis of different approaches to the development of emotional intelligence has made it possible to identify the personal-activity approach as the most effective for the formation of emotional intelligence in future teachers. A number of pedagogical methods have been proposed, such as reflective exercises, training sessions, and project activities that integrate practical, cognitive, and emotional aspects of learning.
The practical significance of the research is to determine the methodological foundations for the development of emotional intelligence that contribute to the training of competitive teachers who are able to work effectively in the context of global changes and ensure the quality emotional well-being of participants of the educational process.
Keywords: emotional intellect, applicants for pedagogical specialties, readiness for professional activity, personal-activity approach, professional training.
