Text: Kenneth Ross "Elementary Analysis" 2nd edition
The course is an introduction to Analysis, a subject which includes the theoretical side of calculus. The most important theme in the course will be building the subject up from the foundations. A typical calculus course (such as Math 180, 181, 210) is focused on introducing tools and applying them to typical problems. In Math 313 we will study the tools themselves more carefully, will reconsider the scope of the applications of these tools more rigorously, and will find new interesting phenomena.
Some of the material of the course is not covered by the textbook.
