• Housing: UQAM’s Services à la vie étudiante can help exchange students find accommodations, for the duration of their stay or a few days, upon their arrival in Montreal. 

  • Two residence halls are located on the UQAM campus. 

  • In the vicinity of UQAM, several establishments offer reasonably priced lodging on a temporary basis. However, making a reservation as soon as you know your arrival date would be wise. 

More information will be sent in preparation emails after admission. 

• Living expenses for students, depending on their lodging and lifestyle, are about $1 500 CAD monthly. 

• HEALTH INSURANCE: Coverage by the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ)
  The Government of Quebec has signed a series of reciprocity agreements, including with Belgium. Under these agreements, exchange students nationals of these countries are exempted from subscribing to a health insurance plan after demonstrating to the UQAM authorities that they have obtained a RAMQ card. Procedures for obtaining the RAMQ card are presented in the International section of the ESG website under the headings International Students and Preparing your exchange. Make sure to apply before the deadline!
