Makerspaces provide hands-on, creative ways to encourage students to design, experiment, build and invent as they deeply engage in science, engineering and tinkering.
Our virtual maker lab is a collection of challenges, links and approved sites that provide making and exploration possible in both the classroom and beyond.
This site is always evolving - if you have any suggestions or would like to contribute an idea - please do!
Go to the collaborative space found here, or email one of the TJRC staff listed in the "About Us" section on this page.
Design Thinking is a process students can use to consider and reconsider ideas for innovation.
As they work through, students engage in critical skill building related to empathy, reflection, creativity and entrepreneurship. Check out these templates that you can use to support students in working through this process, which could be integrated in any area of making shared on this site.
TIP:
To maximize the learning from this iterative process, students should be invited to collaborate with at least one other person to support their thinking and get feedback from.
