OVERVIEW
Originally from Kolkata, India, I moved to the US for college in 2018. After three years getting a bachelor's at Troy University, I moved on to graduate school in 2021. Though the road in physics has been bumpy, I have found solace in the fact that as physicists we are part of a long history of philosophers who have dared to peer out into the unknown of nature, figured out ways to tame it into a controlled environment and in doing so given us the understanding of phenomena that fascinate us beyond our beliefs.
Outside of physics, I am an avid lover of film and always willing to discuss it at length - be it production, screenwriting, storytelling, or just plain watching a movie at the theater.
Education
BS Physics, Troy University, 2021
MS Physics, University of Florida, 2024
Research Interests
I work in quantum metrology and sensing methods that can be used to search for new physics beyond the standard model. Our approach involves cavity quantum electrodynamics to realize entanglement and spin squeezing in molecular ensembles of polar diatomic molecules that can provide enhanced sensitivity beyond the current limits set on precision. Similar interests include:
Searching for symmetry-violating moments, dark matter.
Measuring fifth forces, fundamental constants.
Creating molecules using a state-of-the-art buffer gas cooled source and coupling them to a high-finesse optical resonator.
