Charitable Grant Committee

Under the Direction of Genevieve Vicari and Hayley Tenhoopen, the Investment Club established the Charitable Grant Committee in 2015, an internal group of members who will be responsible for allocating a portion of the portfolio’s assets (about 2%) to philanthropic Registered Student and Non-Profit Organizations in the University of Delaware and Newark area. The Charitable Grant Committee has worked diligently to build out a foundation for efficiently and systematically working with and donating capital to organizations whose charitable benefits will positively impact the surrounding community. Since its inception, the Charitable Grant Committee has donated over $161,000 to 19 organizations supporting a wide range of causes. Charitable Donations

2024       Total Amount Donated: $22,000

   $10,000 to UDance for any operational expenses with the University.

   $4,000 to AMT Club to support funding for kids with disabilities. 

   $2,800 to Public Relations Student Society of America to support professional development. 

   $2,500 to Intervarsity Christian Group to assist in educational and support programs.

   $1,500 to Engineers Without Borders  to support funding for kids with disabilities. 

   $1,200 to Hellenic Student Association to promote educational opportunities. 

2023     Total Amount Donated: $25,420

   $22,600 to UDance for any operational expenses with the University.

   $2,500 to Intervarsity Christian Group to assist in educational and support programs.

   $320 to Lori's Hands for student training.

2022       Total Amount Donated: $25,100

   $20,000 to UDance for any operational expenses with the University.

   $4,000 to AMT Club to support funding for kids with disabilities. 

   $1,100 to Lori's Hands for student training.

2021       Total Amount Donated: $17,000

$17,000 to UDance for any operational expenses with the University.

2019     Total Amount Donated: $27,500

$15,000 to UDance for any operational expenses with the University.

$5,000 to Food Recovery Network for transportation of farmers' produce waste for sorting.

$3,000 to The Big Event for advertising, transportation, tools, and more on the day of service.

$2,500 to Lori's Hands to improve volunteer training modules and education.

$1,000 to CS+Social Good for transportation to local middle and high schools for CS events.

$1,000 to Charity Crossing for the production of care packages.

$10,000 to UDance for any operational expenses with the University.

$4,000 to Alpha Phi Omega for Carnival for a Cure.

$3,500 to Lazarus Rising for transportation to the food banks, homeless shelters, and other locations.

$3,000 to buildOn for materials to build a school in Nepal.

$1,000 to The Big Event for transportation, storage, and renting of tools for the day of the event.
