Airports: Arriving via Philadelphia International (PHL) or Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) airports will be similarly convenient. PHL is approximately one hour north while BWI is about one hour south of the I-95 exits to campus. More distant airports such as EWR or IAD may be an option for international travel if you plan to rent a car or take a train from EWR. Choose travel to/from the airport that best suits your flight times and finances. For travel from the PHL or BWI airports, we suggest Delaware Express – call 800.648.5466 or visit the website, or simply use Uber or Lyft which are widely available in the area.
Trains: The meeting venue is walking distance from Newark, DE train station which, however, is serviced only by a few trains per day. Two train services are available to bring you to Delaware: SEPTA (South Eastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) and Amtrak. Both rails arrive at the same station in Wilmington, DE, but have different costs. Amtrak train service runs full service to Wilmington, DE, which is 20 min by car from Newark, DE. Limited service is available directly to Newark, DE, including one Amtrak train per day from EWR airport and three trains per day from BWI airport.
UD Bus Shuttle (locally within Newark DE)
UD operates a free bus shuttle with a few routes. For those looking to utilize the UD bus system to reach the Audion, the North-South Express will likely be the most direct route. Buses operate on an approximate 30-minute loop Monday through Friday. Beginning at 7:00 am through 7:00pm the intervals between buses arriving at each stop will be once every 8-10 minutes. The evening College route frequency will be once every 30 minutes until 10:30 pm. Riders should use this link to see arrival times and stops.
There are many restaurants on Main Street. Some recommendations are here

The Bartol Centennial follows the American Physical Society's code of conduct for meetings as outlined below.
Our policy is that all participants will conduct themselves in a respectful manner that is welcoming to all participants and free from any form of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation.
Participants will treat each other with respect and consideration to create a collegial, inclusive, and professional environment at the meeting. Creating a supportive environment to enable scientific discourse is the responsibility of all participants.
Participants will avoid any inappropriate actions or statements based on individual characteristics such as age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, nationality, political affiliation, ability status, educational background, or any other characteristic protected by law. Disruptive or harassing behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. Harassment includes but is not limited to inappropriate or intimidating behavior and language, unwelcome jokes or comments, unwanted touching or attention, offensive images, photography without permission, and stalking.
Violations of this code of conduct policy should be reported to the meeting organizers. Sanctions may range from verbal warning, to ejection from the meeting without refund, or to notifying appropriate authorities. Retaliation for complaints of inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated. If a participant observes inappropriate comments or actions and personal intervention seems appropriate and safe, they should be considerate of all parties before intervening.
Apple computers are used in The Audion. For presentations designed on a Windows device, please test the presentation on a Mac. We prefer to have the presentations on our computer, and we will furnish a clicker for use with that computer. However, presenters are welcome to use their own device. If that is the preference, please ensure that the presenting device has the ability to connect to an HDMI cable; or, please provide the appropriate adaptor for the device to be connected to an HDMI cable.
The screens in The Audion are 4K-UHD (widescreen). Due to the size and brightness of the video walls, we recommend minimizing the use of white, or light-colored backgrounds when designing slides. Powerpoint is preferred. We can not use Google Slides as presentation software. If we are sent a file via Google Slides, we will attempt to download it as a Powerpoint file for presentation purposes. If a presenter requires playback using Google Slides or Canvas then they must use their own device.
Please do not rely on streaming video for presentation purposes. UMS will only present streaming media when there is no other option. Please send all media files to us at least one day before the event; or, please arrive early enough to screen and test the media prior to the arrival of guests. Instructions for uploading presentation materials will be emailed to the presenters. The contact for technical services in The Audion is Kevin Shortall <shortall@udel.edu>. Please feel free to contact him with any questions or concerns about presenting in The Audion.
Poster presenters, please bring your posters with you to the registration desk on Wednesday morning. We will install them for you.
Poster sessions are on Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30pm - 2:00pm. Please be available to stand beside your poster for at least one of these.
