Authorized users may use and reserve the GIS workstations in the lab unattended. Other resources are available through appointment with the GVL manager or Student Worker. The Laser Cutters must always be watched while cutting, no exceptions. Failure to do this may result in a loss of GVL access as it is a fire hazard. If, due to negligence and misuse of lab equipment, repairs are required, users will be liable to pay for such repairs and must be re-trained.

The design and construction of weapons of ANY kind is prohibited and requires notification to UCSD Police Department.
UCSD is a state-funded facility, and as such may not sponsor “for profit” functions in the GVL. Users are not allowed to use the GVL for building things to be used as fundraisers or to directly sell to others. The GVL supports users who are using the Lab as part of instructional or research activities.
Before using a machine, receive instruction on proper use. Do not use any machine that you are unfamiliar with...ask for help.
Report any damaged machines, or safety concerns immediately.
There is no space for storage - what you bring in you must take out.
All users are expected to clean up after themselves by recycling or appropriately disposing materials before leaving the GVL.
Sharp objects must be properly disposed.
