Vascular Bioengineering Laboratory
The Vascular Bioengineering Laboratory at UCSD Bioengineering was established under the Principal Investigator Professor Shu Chien. The research goal is to use interdisciplinary approaches to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of the regulation of cell fate, with a special emphasis on the transduction of mechanical stimuli, such as blood pressure and flow, into intracellular signaling, epigenetic changes, and the ensuing gene expression and functional responses in health and disease.
February 5, 2019: At the University of California San Diego, engineers, computer scientists, physicians and clinical researchers work together to improve human health. The collaborations span the lab, the clinic and the classroom. The work addresses a broad array of medical innovations, drives the next generation of medical care, and helps people live longer, healthier lives.
