olá! i am a 2nd-year phd student in the latin american and latino studies program at ucsc, originally from southern brazil.

my research interests contemplate black geographies, marronage, and black political mobilizations in the américas, with a special focus on urban quilombola communities in the south of brazil.

my project was selected for a brazilian initiation scholarship (bis) sponsored by the brazilian studies association (brasa)! i will be going to pará (brazil) in the summer for fieldwork 🔍🇧🇷
