olá! i am a 4th-year phd candidate in the latin american and latino studies program at ucsc, originally from southern brazil.

i am interested in black geographies, urban anthropology, território, marronage, and land struggles in the américas. my current research project collaborates with maroon women mobilizing their communities (quilombos) toward territorial rights in porto alegre, brazil's southernmost metropolis.
