Hi! I'm Adam, a PhD student in the Statistics Department at University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC). I hold a B.S. in Applied Mathematics (2023), and a M.S. in Statistics (2024), both earned at UCSC.
My research focus is the intersection of sports analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning, with a focus on Bayesian inference. My current PhD Thesis topic is estimating team and player movement in Basketball to infer team and player strategy, using NBA player-tracking data.
I am taking a year-long leave of absence from Academia (As of December 2024) to join the Detroit Tigers' Baseball Operations Department! This opportunity allows me to explore the use of Statistics towards data-driven decision-making and advanced analytics in a professional baseball setting.
