INTERNAL MEDICINE
The Clinical Faculty Career Advisor (CFCA) Program is a vital mentoring initiative designed to support our third and fourth-year UCR School of Medicine (SOM) medical students. We pair each student with a faculty member in their specialty of choice to provide essential guidance through the challenging residency application process.
This year-long commitment is a critical part of our students' journey, running until they complete the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Match process.
As a faculty advisor, your mentorship is invaluable in helping students navigate this crucial time. You will provide support in four key stages:
4th-Year Schedule Review: Guide students in planning their final year of medical school to best prepare for residency.
Residency Application Preparation: Assist students as they review their ERAS application, refine their personal statements, and select programs to apply to.
Interview Preparation: Offer crucial support and advice, helping them prepare for interviews through mock sessions and guidance as they navigate the interview trail.
Rank Order List Review and Match Day: Help students finalize their rank order list and provide support during the exciting conclusion of the Match.
