The Dionne Publicly Engaged Research Lab (DPERL) is a political science research laboratory at the University of California Riverside.
Under Professor Kim Yi Dionne's mentorship, both graduate and undergraduate students have engaged in research studying questions about democracy, development, and health, with a focus on African politics. For example, recent projects examined: COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy in Malawi, disaster politics in southern Africa, and judicial independence in Africa.
Our team is composed of undergraduate students and graduate students. If you are interested in joining the lab, email our current lab manager about opportunities.
Our lab's first co-authored article, "Undergraduates and Political Science Research: Insights from Research Assistants in an MSI Lab" was published in PS: Political Science & Politics, a peer-reviewed journal published by Cambridge University Press. (Link here)
