Workshop on
Optimization for Sports
University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada
Sunday, August 27th, 2023, 9:00 am-12:25 pm
Topics and Target
This workshop aims to bring together the best researchers working on sports-related optimization problems to share their relevant research and cultivate innovative ideas. Optimization in sports is everywhere, whether we talk about lineup construction, players' evaluation, in-play decision-making, sports scheduling, or sports policies. Furthermore, the legalization of sports gambling is increasing rapidly, and with it comes interesting venues for applying optimization and constraint programming to real-time decision-making problems. Several works in literature have successfully developed profitable strategies for sports gambling. The number of venues and arrays of problems in sports is growing rapidly, and the constraints community will find the sport's problems interesting, which will lead to future research.
Location
The workshop is part of the 29th International Conference on Principles and Practice of Constraint Programming (CP 2023). Specific information about the location can be found on the CP 2023 website.
