Your conference registration includes the following special events; please RSVP on the registration page:

  • Thursday Oct 17, 12:15 – 1:30 pm: BBQ Buffet Lunch at Top of Carolina Restaurant. On campus, approximately 10 minute walk from the Hollings Library; complimentary shuttle bus transportation is available (please RSVP for lunch and bus).
  • Thursday Oct. 17, 6 – 8 pm: Poster session and reception at the South Carolina State Library. Appetizers and hosted bar. Walking distance from Hollings Library.

Cancellation policy

Refund requests must be submitted in writing prior to October 25, 2019, and are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. The conference and all of its events are offered on a cost-recovery basis and may be cancelled due to adverse events beyond the control of ALA or if there is insufficient registration. In the event that an ALA-sponsored activity is cancelled, ALA cannot be responsible for any cancellation/charge assessed to registrants by airlines, travel agencies, or hotels. ALA does not provide refunds for registration or personal expenses due to weather or travel related circumstances.

Travel Grants

We are pleased to offer ten travel grants for students to attend LRS VII. Each travel grant includes conference registration and up to $1,000 towards travel, housing, and meals (actual costs only will be reimbursed).

Applicants must be enrolled in an ALA-accredited Master’s or Doctoral degree program, or in a Master’s or Doctoral degree program with a specialty in school librarianship from a program recognized by AASL in an educational unit accredited by CAEP.

Please submit a brief essay (250 -300 words) describing how research relates to your career goals along with proof of enrollment (acceptance letter, registration confirmation, etc.) to cameron.tuai@drake.edu by September 16, 2019.

The first ten applicants meeting the above criteria will receive the travel grant.
