On October 24th, we hosted the 17th edition of the UCL Finance Conference at the prestigious Waldorf Hilton Hotel in Central London. The event welcomed 150 delegates for a full day of high-impact discussions, interactive sessions, and valuable networking opportunities.
Attendees heard from distinguished leaders in the industry, including Stephen Paine, Michael Lavelle, Lia Larson, and Ardal Loh-Gronager, who shared expert insights on financial markets, leadership, and career development within the finance sector.
This year’s conference also featured an engaging Alumni Panel, with UCL graduates Jalal Mammadzada, Sevdalina Shiderova, Chenxi Liu, and Naresh Sonpar CC offering first-hand perspectives from their roles across leading financial institutions.
Delegates participated in a range of practical and career-focused activities, including a Jefferies-led stock pitch competition, where students received professional guidance on structuring and delivering compelling investment pitches. In partnership with Barclays, attendees also had the opportunity to engage with professionals across divisions ranging from private banking to capital markets, gaining valuable exposure to the breadth of careers in finance.
We extend our sincere thanks to our sponsors — Barclays, Jefferies, and the UCL School of Management — whose support made this year’s conference possible.
