360 Degrees of Financial Literacy

360 Degrees of Financial Literacy is a national volunteer effort of the nation’s Certified Public Accountants to help Americans understand their personal finances and develop money management skills. It focuses on financial education as a lifelong endeavor—from children learning about the value of money to adults reaching a secure retirement.

Champlain College's Center for Financial Literacy

The Center for Financial Literacy at Champlain College, Vermont, promotes and develops resources to improve financial literacy skills in K-12 students, college students, teachers (K-12 and college) and adults. Their resources include the Awesome Island personal finance game and TeachFinLit.org, a professional learning community website offering personal finance education resource recommendations.

Finance in the Classroom

Finance in the Classroom is an online resource portal run by the Utah Board of State Education in partnership with the Utah Education Network. It provides high-quality personal finance materials for K-12 educators, students and parents.

Financial Literacy Education Commission

The Financial Literacy and Education Commission was established under the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003, and was tasked to develop a national financial education web site (MyMoney.gov) as well as a national strategy on financial education. It is chaired by the Secretary of the Treasury and the vice chair is the Director of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection. The Commission is coordinated by the Department of the Treasury's Office of Consumer Policy. Goodwill Community Foundation

The GCF offers free, self-paced courses in the form of online tutorials for a range of essential skills needed to live and work in the 21st century, including a couple on personal finance.

InCharge Debt Solutions

InCharge Debt Solutions is a nonprofit organization that offers confidential and professional credit counseling, debt management services, bankruptcy education, housing counseling and educational initiatives promoting financial literacy. Jump$tart Coalition

Jump$tart is a national nonprofit coalition of more than 100 organizations from business, finance, academia, education, government and other sectors that work collaboratively to advance the financial literacy of preschool through college-age youth through public advocacy and awareness, and by promoting and supporting effectiveness in financial education. They offer a variety of resources, including teacher training initiatives, the creation of national standards for financial literacy education at the K-12 level, as well as an online library of financial education resources for teachers, parents and caregivers.

National Endowment for Financial Education

The National Endowment for Financial Education is a private nonprofit foundation dedicated to inspiring empowered financial decision making for individuals and families through every stage of life. Their resources include Cash Course, a free online tools and curricula for students, institutions as well as learners not presently affiliated with institutions; a free Financial Education Evaluation Toolkit to help educators and decision-makers implement and improve their personal finance curriculum; Financial Workshop Kits that cover curricula tailored for families rebuilding financially after domestic violence, working women and retirees; student guides and instructor materials for high school financial planning programs, resources for how to plan for retirement, financial literacy basics for young professionals, and Smart About Money, a customizable financial education portal for individuals looking for free personal budgeting tools. NEFE also funds MoneyTeach, a community connecting financial educators to instructional resources and each other in partnership with the University of Arizona.

Next Gen Personal Finance

Next Gen Personal Finance is a free high-school personal finance curriculum and professional development partner helping teachers deliver essential money understanding in an easy-to-grasp, engaging way. NGPF offers a free online curriculum of 65+ complete lessons and 200+ standalone activities you can access from anywhere. Aside from their comprehensive curricula and lesson plans, their webpage serves as a space for educators to come together to build community via blog posts, podcasts and newsletters. NGPF also offers a host of professional development activities, including free of cost in-person FinCamps for educators, teacher toolkits, and regular interactive webinars.

Thirteen Ed Lesson Plans

Although no longer actively maintained, this website from the flagship public television station of the New York City tri-state area is a good hub for financial literacy resources, including free lesson plans and video materials.

University of Wisconsin-Madison's Center for Financial Security

Housed in the School of Human Ecology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW), the Center for Financial Security is an intellectual hub for financial literacy research and outreach across disciplines. Their resources include free monthly webinars CFS hosts a monthly webinar series for an audience of primarily financial practitioners, offers financial coaching strategies, a free online financial fitness test (developed in collaboration with The Mint Grad), and a dedicated program to support financial management alongside positive health behaviors called FinMed.

Wealth 101

Wealth 101, run in partnership with NGPF and The Visual Capitalist, is a resource that offers powerful visuals on topics related to personal finance, including on compound interest, credit, mutual funds and stocks.
