I am interested in understanding how the information in our environment guides our decision-making processes. Specifically, I am looking at cases where our environment is more than just a set of features or attributes about different alternatives. For example, how are our own subjective preferences represented, how can we best measure these, and how do they guide our behaviors? Similarly, are their interesting latent attributes such as patterns in social communication, or rarity of an attribute, which people are able to use as a critical piece of information in their decision-making process. I mostly use Bayesian Cognitive models, as well as more standard statistical models, to help understand these questions.
