As my primary source for my research project, I have ultimately decided to use the museums and pyramids of Tzinztunzan, Michoacan. I decided on these because they are real-life locations that will help prove my point and are the center of my research. As I assembled my Annotated Bibliography I noticed that there is not much information or scholarly sources on my very specific topic but they are useful because they bring other points to the table that I can eventually tie in together. As I searched for scholarly sources I encountered a lack of conversation and had to be very broad to get the information that I needed. I noticed that many of scholarly sources had scholars presenting a new idea which is what I am doing so it is very interesting to note how they do so. Something I want to continue to explore is other sources that are not scholarly so see other opinions or possible useful information.Â
Newest possible research question:
How has colonialism covered up and erased indigenous sites/history in Mexico by featuring catholicism and colonialism? How have indigenous people profited from this tourism? And how the indigenous pyramids/history in Tzinztunzan have been overlooked while colonialism is the main focus of tourism.
