Position:

Teaching Assistant

Description:

Leading discussion sections where I discuss important concepts from the lecture, and guide the students to the different approaches for problem-solving.

Tasks include teaching and mentoring undergraduate students, and assisting professors with tasks such as grading. For one of the courses (Probability and Statistics) I was assigned the task of writing R code for the homework assignments.

London School of Economics (LSE) External Program

Description of the Program:

The LSE External Program allows undergraduate students to enroll in a 3-year Bachelor degree where all the courses are designed by LSE. Students from different parts of the world can enroll in the program, and take the LSE External Program end-of-year exams at the British Council. The exams are written and graded in LSE.

The Arab Academy for Science and Technology was licensed by the LSE External Program to teach the courses to the enrolled students in Alexandria, Egypt. I was recruited to teach the LSE External Program material and guide students in their studies.

Description:

For both positions, I had to follow the curriculum designed by the LSE External Program closely. I discussed and explained the concepts, taught the students how to approach the problems, and trained them to solve problems.

Description:

As an Instructor, I designed the courses I taught and led the course team (comprised of myself and my teaching assistants). I led the course lectures, where I explained and discussed Economic concepts, and engaged students with a variety of real-world examples. I also wrote exams and assignments, and coordinated with the course team to ensure a smooth and enriching experience to students.

As a Teaching Assistant, I led discussion sections where I discussed concepts and questions, and assisted students with their problem-solving skills. I graded assignments and exams, and assumed roles delegated to me by the course Instructor such as occasionally leading the lectures.

Class Size: 45 - 110 students
