VoiceLab - DSON is a dynamic and innovative team of passionate scientists, engineers, and speech-language pathologists. Our collective expertise enables us to push the boundaries of technology and advance the field of clinical voice assessment. We are improving this field by combining clinical practices, fundamental voice production principles, and advanced signal processing and modeling algorithms.

At the heart of our voice research lies the validation and clinical applications of a wearable device on the neck skin that captures voice signals using smartphone technologies and a small vibratory sensor. This novel device provides invaluable approximations of glottal airflow, enabling us to assess vocal function with unprecedented accuracy objectively. Through this pioneering approach, we want to transform the landscape of voice assessment and provide clinicians with powerful tools to diagnose patients with voice disorders accurately.

However, our dedication extends beyond voice disorders alone. As an integral part of the esteemed Department of Sound (Departamento de Sonido, DSON), VoiceLab - DSON actively engages in the exciting realm of music technology, audio, and acoustic research. Collaborating with talented students in the sound engineering program, we explore new frontiers, constantly striving to enhance the world of sound and its applications.
