Chairo Solutions, in partnership with the Junior Chamber of Energy and Minerals, presents GeoCode Lab 2025 a dynamic, hands-on training program designed to equip students, young professionals, and GIS enthusiasts with practical skills in ArcGIS and Python programming for spatial data analysis and mapping. Tailored for those in the energy, minerals, environment, and geospatial sectors, this lab offers an opportunity to work on real-world projects, gain valuable data analytics expertise, and earn a certificate of participation all online via Google Meet.
GeoCode was founded by Arthur Natukunda, a petroleum engineer and IT professional with a passion for applying technology to solve Africa’s development challenges, particularly in the energy, minerals, and environment sectors. Earlier this year,I delivered a presentation at Makerere University on how African perspectives can drive data analysis and system development tailored to the continent’s needs.
I was joined by Nixon Asiimwe, a dedicated co-founder and technology enthusiast who shares this vision. Together, we established GeoCode 2025 to equip young Africans with practical, industry relevant skills in geospatial technology and data analytics, while inspiring the creation of homegrown solutions laying the groundwork for Africa’s own versions of platforms like Petrel and ArcGIS.
The goal of GeoCode 2025 is to equip young Africans with practical geospatial and data analytics skills to address local challenges and inspire the development of homegrown technologies for the energy, minerals, and environment sectors.
