Summer STEM Rising

What is STEM Rising?

The UC Davis Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Achievement (MESA) Center proudly presents its Summer STEM Rising Program for Rising 7-8th graders (Middle School) and Rising 9th to 12th graders (High School) by Fall 2019. Our free two-week summer program is for currently enrolled or interested MESA students to take advantage of furthering their knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) at the UC Davis campus. The UC Davis MESA Center services the greater Sacramento Region, and students must be enrolled in local middle and high schools to be eligible (transportation is not provided).

Middle School Scholars

Middle School MESA students entering the 7th or 8th Grade when school starts in August 2019, are welcome to apply to our Middle School STEM Rising free week-long intensive bootcamp!

Dates: Monday June 24 through Friday June 28, 2019

Location: UC Davis Main Campus

Daily Class Time: 9:30am - 5:30pm

Courses Offered:

  • MESA Math Prep or Advanced Math Prep
  • MESA Science of Flight
  • MESA Engineering Design Thinking
  • Intro to Robotics and Programming or
  • MESA Rocket Design

Special UC Davis Campus Lab Tours!

Daily Lunch & Class Materials Provided.

High School Scholars

High School MESA students entering the 9th-12th Grade when school starts in August 2019, are welcome to apply to our High School STEM Rising free week-long intensive bootcamp!

Dates: Monday July 15 through Friday July 19, 2019

Location: UC Davis Main Campus

Daily Class Time: 9:30am - 5:30pm

  • MESA Math/PSAT
  • Science: MESA Physics of Flight
  • MESA Engineering Design Thinking
  • Intro to Robotics and Programming or
  • 3D Modeling

Application Deadline:

  • Deadline is June 10, 2019.
  • Submit your application through the middle school or high school link below.
  • Students must submit a copy of their current middle school or high school transcript to qualify.
  • Parental Authorization form must be submitted.
  • MESA Advisor must submit recommendation (see application) directly by June 12, 2019.
  • GPA: 3.0 or higher preferred.
